Today i went to Kranji memorial park to take pictures.. with the accompaniment of Ken and Xiaoting. XT was bored so she decided to join us. Well i do hope that she weren't that bored lar. Afterall we are there to juz take pictures ma.
The weather was pretty fickle-minded today. At times the dark ominous clouds gather to speak of rain, and not long after that the sun triumph again. We were actually pouring out sweat and we spent some time going thru some of the tombstones. Some are different from one another perhaps due to the difference in religions. Some have no names, while some have their child and spouses' tombstone together with them, side by side.
Of course, it's sad to see so many allied soldiers died in the battle to preserve the integrity of this island.
We saw a number bangla worker dozing at some of the sheltered part of the monument...and orchids hanging on some of the trees.
When we first entered this memorial park, we saw this relatively big brown-marbled tombstone solitary on a turf-like kind of grass field. We went to look at it and it was president Benjamin sheares' tombstone.
After this we head off to CCK cemetery with only ken, coz XT need to go and she of coz had no plans to go cemetery with us. That i can fully understand. =)
Thank God for such a wan-to-rain-dunwan-to-rain kind of weather, sustaining us thru out my photo shoot. I thought we could find that abandoned 3 blocks of HDB flat in Kranji...but to dismay it was a no..
Ya...i am all tired out..drenched in that weariness that i am so lazy to move now....
