Today marked the day i stepped into the world of international cuisines in Paris Tampines Mall. Alright, my mum, both my brothers and i went to tampines to help leon make his specs at optical 88. In the end we settled with this promotion package of his specs at 119. Jim and i shared the cost of coz, as a gift to leon. Even so, we kept reminding him to take really good care of his specs (the cost is one main factor of coz) as well as to ask him not to keep spending his inordinate amount of time on watching tv and using pc. His eyesight had indeed worsen to 300 and 250. My second brother also went to make his plastic specs for his enlistment which is nearing the corner.
Well, as usual, tampines is packed like sardines, especially since the "food festival" thingy is on, and stalls were set up almost everywhere.
We went around tampines mall and century square, basically for my mum's sake, who had seldom shopped in these 2 malls. For me..i am juz so sian. Nevertheless, we went to have our dinner at paris restaurant.
First of all, i dunno wat to do when i was inside the restaurant. The waiter and waitresses are all non- chinese speaking and their english is so incoherent that i got much problem trying to understand what they are trying to tell me. The fortunate thing was some of the assistant chefs are pretty fluent with their chinese and told me that the seafood over there are all cold dishes that were COOKED. I saw so much ice cubes on those food, that i forgot that RED PRAWNS mean that they are COOKED. I took those prawns and crayfish(brown in colour) and brought them to the bbq corner to ask the chef to bbq for me. The chef was gesturing here and there with his chunks of english and told me that he could only heat them up for me. I said, "anything".
My mum then told me that the prawns are red, and asked me how come i wanted to "cook them". I covered up my embarrassment by saying that, "oh...i dun like the prawns to be so cold, so i ask the chef to go heat them up."
Yes indeed, i made a complete fool of myself today in that restaurant. So, being the crappy me, I keep guessing the country of origin for those waiters and waitresses. 3 countries rose in back in my mind, namely, Vietnam, Thailand or Myanmar. I am confident they are from Myanmar. Why, coz they look like my myanmar fren. HAHA. Rubbish logic i noe.
I kept feeding myself with food and food. With sharkfin and tom yam soup, ice -cream.. bla bla. I guess this was really the best time for me to demonstrate that inherent gluttony in me.
I was so FULL at the end of that feat i demonstrated. My family and i took some pics together and we left the place, satiated to the brim.
