Sunburnt on Sunday, September 11, 2005
Orhhh another week lies ahead of me. With so many tasks left undone..i feel so drained. Nevertheless saturday was a day of fun for me. "Fun". Saturday was the BP mentoring 10th anniversary which was held in SIngapore Poly.
I went to Geylang Methodist where one of the teacher, Mrs lee went with us, together with 7 of the kids, where 3 of them are receiving awards for their improvement academically.
It was a day of testing my patience in handling those kids outside. THEY ARE really very nasty and ...ughh...running about..screaming. BUt one good thing is that they are really very afraid of their teacher-in-charge. :)
I am very happy coz i finally found the song called Making love out of nothing at all, by Air supply...dunno why ppl keep thinking about dirty stuff wheni tell them about this song. Bleah.
While we were sitting snugly at the auditorium for the awards presentation ceremony, Mervyn and Evelyn from Kids central were the hosts for today. They were pretty funny.
In between the awards presentation, there were some games being played on stage. THe hosts start to ask the kids to nominate their mentor to come up on stage to play some hoolahoop game. To my oblivion, there were many fingers pointing at me from behind.....and when i turn around i saw my mentees pointing me from behind. I try to hush them, try to ask them to stop pointing at me. The inevitable came. Together with some students and another mentor from ntu,smu and my nus, we went up to play the hoolahoop thru body kind of game. Silly..but no choice, have to be sporty about it.
The students keep mentioning that my hair will burst all their balloons. Silly.
While i was sitting at the auditoriium. THere is this gal sitting infront of me. Looks familiar. Then i realised she was Qiyun! i call her name, she turned around was so shocked to see me here. She was one of those getting an award for serving with BP mentoring schemes for 3 years. We exchange numbers.. and started to chat about the whole BP mentoring thingy. Wat a weird occasion to encounter an old fren.
