My brother accompanied me to the clinic today. 12:10: I entered inside, rinse my mouth, and Dr. Ng began to inject the anaesthetics into various parts of my mouth, mainly the right side of my mouth. The piercing pain of the the needle was still alright, and wat followed was a series of test for numbness, and there was this unexpected pain at a certain part of my mouth and the doc began to inject another round of anaesthetics. I was then blindfolded to shield my eyes from the light while he continued wat he ought to do.
All i knew was that my whole body was rigid, due to anxiety and nervous in getting the whole thing done and over with. The doc on several occasions have to ask me to open my mouth bigger. He was using some drilling tooth and i can feel the "thing" drilling away my tooth.
He was also tugging at my tooth, pulling at it, applying pressure on it....turning it...it juz felt so weird until suddenly while he was pulling at it i felt a sharp pang of pain. I "ahhhh" and he said, "Nick, wats wrong? Is it painful?"
I said: "Ahhh, ahhh.." obviously coz i can't talk at that precise moment while i am being operated upon. He injected anaesthetics once more...
After about an hour and a half...everything was done...much to my oblivion. And there i was lying on the "sofa" figuring whether my tooth had fallen off or not. Everything was done swiftly and with such agility that i was simply amazed. He displayed my three teeth right infront of me in a surgical tray, with blood all over each of them. They were real ugly....something i won't wan to see ever again.
Over that surgery, i could hear the doc kind of scolding his assistant, at her clumsiness and bla bla...but i wasn't that paying attention to wat they were discussing; after all their conversations were filled with medical jargons.
Home sweet home. The gauze was still wet with blood...and i had to keep changing the gauze, while blood simply ooze out from my mouth, like a vampire who had juz sucked dry someone.
Ok enough of the grostesque part. My mum cooked some porridge with my favourite snow fish and i have to eat in small mouthful, in fear of touching the wounds.
Next week i have to go back to take out the stitches....hopefully by then my mouth is back to normal.....and can start indulging in Chinese New Year cookies again.!
