Ya it's been such a long time since the last time have blogged. Is it the school? May be =)
Or may be it's jus the upcoming BP Anniversary day that is keeping me busy all the way till around 9 September.
A video collage is on the way, now that the anniversary poster is done.
Today met up with my mentor, AP Lee Loo Hay. He is jus a nice mentor that when all 7 of us gathered in his office for this annual meeting, my year 4 senior Huixian, capriciously gave him all the laurels of appraisal for being the only enthusisastic mentor who initiated to meet us all, buy macdonald for us for lunch..and of coz, providing us with the latest juicy news in Industrial and Systems engineering...
The question on the lastest average salary for the graduates is and will always be a hot question...well 2700 for average is ok and i duno understand why frens around me see it as too meagre. Different yardstick of measurement i guess?
I sent out an email to my year4 seniors to ask them for my Operations Research textbook. I ask them if they'd wanted to sell or lend to me. They are actually so kind enough to help post on the ISE forum to ask their batch mates for the book. They can't sell it to me coz of the same usage on the same book for the higher level of operations research module. Welll...really touched by their effort.... =)
Nothing can describe my fatigue now.. ...

Yea..wat a great night with a guest appearance of Si Ni.
A splendid night of fireworks never fail to light up the fire of your life. People everywhere were screaming in elation, in joy of the spectacular outbursts of fireworks. We had met at Hans at this obscure Wooolooo place, and we'd decided to take a walk to marina...had a quick dinner, and headed down straight to esplanade, hoping to get some good view.
Aftermath of this whole fireworks thing was this "War of the Worlds" scene, where people have to squeeze side by side, walking like PENGUINS towards the bottlenecked entrance at the esplanade which led to marina. Crazy massive group of crowd.
We had our encounter with a traffic police who saw a massive crowd trying to jay walk. We were amongst the crowd, and the traffice police jus signalled us to cross the road..(no fine!)

Whatever that has happened to the ancient value of 尊 师 重 道?
What has happened to that once glorious Ngee Ann Secondary School?
All the stories from Linda and Guojun really start to make me feel so ...outraged? Can't really find one word to describe.
With that dramatic transformation of our once fearsome Mrs Sundram to now becoming a meek and gentle dovey counsellor...anything can change in NASS.
With the ignorance of the useless principal...
With students spitting on teachers...
With miss Gan and mrs pong all becoming adjunct teachers...
With students scolding u "bitch"
With students in express stream behaving worse than those in NT.
With the school principal helplessly side with parents than teachers.
Jus imagine that now the classroom need to have 2 teachers in it to maintain the order...
Just imagine that residents are complaining that the school is way too noisy?
So tell me...whatever has gone real wrong with this education system.
Both guojun and linda realised that ruling them with an iron rod is futile... Soft approach is even worst...
To hell with the "teach less learn more" theory... now every school has its own woes ...the newly breed of spoiled brats..who have the backing of parents who simply pushed the responsibility of disciplining their children to the teachers.
By the way no more are there theories that "oh, may be these children come from problematic family background and we should talk nicely to them about it".
The fact that they have this disrregard for authority means that they behaved in a similar manner to their parents too. Now the question is, "why do parents fail to instil that sense of respect for authority to these brats?"
Have u seen a principal going into a classroom in the middle of a lesson to sweep the floor?

Ok busy with invitation cards, posters, notepad cover...today finally ended off with the banner! My job is done here! I am still wondering over my continuation in the board for next sem of a new appointment..publicity director. This title of course means more loads of designing work to do...No doubt i enjoy doing those stuff...but once the school term starts i will be one hell of work to do. I think the five of us really did a good job today. We met at 2pm..and finally finished everything by 8pm...with some painted "scars" all over our hands. Jan actually sit on one black paint tin cap, and her shorts got this black patch. Yulong her bf then manage to get her change into one of his extra shorts (he came well prepared huh?) The shorts was too big for her! In the end she had to use this elastic thingy to tighten the berms. Yesterday was the last day at Raffles Holdings..bidded many farewells to many nice friends that i had made there. Gracia, the receptionist that i had worked closely with really made my job so much easier while i was there. I think that i had told xiaoting once about my unreasonable boss..and his weird temper. There are times where i had to put up with his temper. Especially when he had asked to OT till 7pm and had to report at 7am to finish my task he asked me to do. There are jus too much things to complain this character in this company. Yesterday before i left, he (James my boss), asked me for my email. I asked him why..he said "you will know". Apparently he asked my receptionist for her email too... I will be real shocked if he is getting marrried. He is the worst boss that i had ever encountered in my whole life. This morning received a couple of SMS from some colleagues who weren't around yesterday during my last day in office. Nice messages. Will always keep them in mind. Whenever i grumble to my mum..i realise that my mum and i really belong to a different world. My mum rules with an iron fist in her workplace, fighting for her own rights, and never let go of people who accuse her. She sees me as someone easily being bullied, and why i had put up with that boss of mine. My mum even says : " Go give him one tight slap, tell him my mum ask me to slap you". Win already. This is my mum. Sometimes I do agree it angers me when people take you for granted..but then again..sometimes tolerance brings about nice returns. There are times when someone who berated at you suddenly take a step back when he realise how calm you are in face of his ranting. There are times when someone actually feel touched by your sincerity, and in return doing things that incredibly touched you. One lesson that i had learnt in this holiday..which i must always remind myself. That is, it's impossible to please everyone.... Well at least i promise them if i am free that i will still meet them for lunch at city hall =)
Finally the poster is ready for matric fair...
